Reflections, a History of Austin High School - DVD

After more than four years of planning, interviewing and editing, “Reflections, a History of Austin High School”, is complete. This project, done by the Austin High School Alumni and Friends Association, is another way we try to preserve the past and plan for the future.

The DVD, which is narrated by Sue Heimsness Petersen, Class of 1975, begins with a one room school house that was the first place of learning for Austin students and ends with the present day building. Many former teachers and coaches were interviewed. They reminisced about the school, students, classes and how honored they were to teach in such a grand building. There was a special appearance by Betty Wescott, widow of former long time principal, Ray Wescott. John O’Rourke served as the moderator.

The two DVD set is available for $20.00. They can be purchased at the AHS Cashier’s office, The Tendermaid, Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Paramount Theater. You may also call the Austin Public Education office at (507) 433-0433.

Thank you for your support of the AHS Alumni and Friends Association.
